This 1200-watt iron from Bosch offers full-range steam functionality in a tidy little structure that weighs under 3 pounds. Designed to heat water continuously, the iron provides strong, even steam distribution, as well as a water-spray feature and a steam-jet function for extra stubborn wrinkles. You can also turn the water options off for dry-iron projects, like synthetic fabrics. A rocker switch controls water output during use--rock it one way for steam and the other way for water--and the steam valve is designed to self-clean automatically. The iron's stainless steel soleplate glides over clothes and resists scratches and nicks. Clearly marked with fabric settings, the temperature dial adjusts easily and stays put once you make a selection. Bosch's transparent 8-ounce fill tank sports a clear "max" line and refills with the included plastic cup. The iron also features an 8-foot power cord attached to a 360-degree swivel ball joint. --Emily Bedard
A good iron at last Ironing and irons are not something one gets excited about. We have owned several irons over the years that usually lasted 2-3 years. Two weeks ago our [amt]Proctor-Silex caught on fire and we were forced to search for a new iron. We looked at several before choosing the Bosch TDA1302UC. We did not want to get another disposable iron from Wal-Mart. We looked at the Rowenta irons and thought they were too heavy and a bit too pricey. So far the Bosch has been a pleasure to use. It has very good ergonomics and it very well balanced unlike many irons that we have owned The self-cleaning nozzle feature is nice. We do a lot of craft type activities and it is nice not to have the auto shutoff feature. We have owned other Bosch products (dishwasher)and they have been very reliable, efficient machines. I would definitely recommend. Bosch is still the best! I recently purchased this Bosch iron a few months ago. It has been working quite well so far. The main thing I like about this iron is that it's fairly lightweight to use, unlike most irons which are heavy and become a chore to use. The only minor drawback I think it has is as mentioned in the other review, about the leaks from using the steam function. But I have read complaints about leaks from over $100 irons! And look at the price-$45/what a bargain! Bosch is still the best! I recently purchased this Bosch iron a few months ago. It has been working quite well so far.
