ROWENTA TRAVEL IRON DUAL VOLT - VERT STEAM - FOLDG DA251

ROWENTA TRAVEL IRON DUAL VOLT - VERT STEAM - FOLDG DA251

Save your money1
I have owned several Rowenta irons and can tell you, this one is a waste of money. The rubber gasket at the opening where you add water tore so it leaks; it spurts water over everything (yes, I followed the directions). All this just after the warranty ran out. I called Rowenta and their response was less than helpful. I have a Black & Decker travel iron I've had for years that still works like a charm.

Reliable J450A Home Ironing System with Continuous Steam System
From Reliable

What's the secret to getting a clean, crisp finish to your garments Professionals know the value of using dry, pressurized steam when ironing. This gets the steam into the fabric faster - your ironing time is cut in half (it's true). Steam is used to soften the fibers, and the weight of the iron shapes the fabric. This is done effortlessly when you have the right tools to do the job. Pressurized steam is the key. Once you've used it, you will never go back to you old iron again. Find out what garment makers, dry cleaners and tailors have known for years; using pressurized steam transforms ironing from a tiresome chore to an effortless task. Now the same quality steam is available to everyone With our CSS (Continuous Steam System) technology, you'll never have to worry about running out of steam in the middle of ironing again. Simply refill the built-in water tank when the water level is low (or the low water light indicates it's time) and away you go. No more waiting. RELIABLE understands that the quality of an ironing system is only as good (no matter how nice it looks) as what is inside it. Good Iron5
I bought this iron after my Rowenta steam iron died. After using an iron with continuous steam, it is impossible to go back to a standard iron. The Reliable is easy to use and the refillable water container is great, no more waiting for pressure to go down to refill with water. I have been using this iron for about 6 weeks, an average of 4-6 hours a week, and have had no problems with it. I would recommend this iron, especially to those who are no longer happy with the more easily found Rowenta.

Excellent Ironing System5
Excellent ironing system. My previous system was a Bernina. I prefer the Reliable. The water container is a bit small, but I have found that it does not need to be filled as often as I thought . . . and is easily filled from the opening in the top. Great steam!

I love this iron5
I don't know why, but I went through many steam irons in my lifetime. I could never find one that I liked (or lasted) so I thought I would invest in the Reliable. I have no regrets. It slides and steams like a dream.

Disappointing1
I have owned several Rowenta irons in the past. I have loved them all except this one. It started leaking within five weeks after we received it. It irons OK but it leaks now and this is just not acceptable for an iron that cost this much. If you want a good iron, go to Target and if it doesn't function properly you can alway return it for full refund. According to Amazon, I can not get a refund.

Almost perfect4
I love absolutely everything about this iron except that the handle is a little big for someone with small hands. After ironing for a while, my hand begins to ache. I have to point out that I do LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the hundreds of steam holes and that this iron comes with it's own water container to fill it. I always bothered me that I had to use my own measuring cups and forgot where I put them.

Can ironing really be fun?5
Well, maybe not, but this is a close as I have come to enjoying the task. This iron glides over fabrics, and leaves a lovely smooth path. It heats quickly, and makes fast work of a stack of shirts. The pointed tip fits nicely into cuffs and along buttons.
Plus the pink appeals to my inner girl.

Looking for a professional iron, this is the one5
I am a professional seamstress, handweaver and I iron fabric off and on all day, every day, five days a week.
I have bought many irons in my 30 years in business. And have paid large sums of money for some of them.
This iron is the best all around iron on the market today. I don't say that lightly either. It does pull more power with it's heavy duty electric cord, I expect my electric bill will go up slightly now that I use this exclusively on my fabrics..... But the finished product is so much nicer and I get the professional finish I want to have on my handwovens. The added cost is worth the finished product.

Extremely disappointed - Leaks Severely While Upright1
My mother and I have owned Rowenta irons for years and loved them. We are both crafters and love the professional job they have done and the fact they are available without the auto shut-off feature. When my last Rowenta started leaking from the base after only 3 years of use, I was disappointed, but immediately ordered the DX8900 to replace it. What a huge disappointment! The new base plate material does not glide smoothly compared to my last iron and the new tip is too rounded to iron into corners properly. I love the larger water reservoir, but the iron does not produce consistant steam and spits badly. The biggest disappointment is that after 6 monthes of use it has started leaking severely from the base when it is in the upright position just like my last one.

After researching the web, it appears that leaking from the base is a common problem with many Rowenta irons, so I am very leary of ordering another one. Unfortunately, there are very few professional quality irons available without auto shutoff, so I'm not sure what my next step is going to be.

Best one yet...5
I quilt and sew daily and use this iron constantly. It is remarkable. Steam when and where I want it and in the quantity I need. I've had several expensive irons, but none came close to this one. And - no annoying "auto shut-off" when I don't want/expect it. The large size water tank is a benefit too.

don't bother...1
The total "wireless time" you can iron is 2 minutes... takes longer than that to fully flatten a sleeve for ironing... plus the charger needs counter or ironing board space... as a corded iron it's bulky and heavy and lacking in features of any number of much cheaper irons...

Poor quality iron1
For many years, I had a Black and Decker cordless iron that was a gem, so when it died, I expected to find similar quality in this one. Boy, was I disappointed! It's difficult to place in the holder, it began falling apart almost immediately, and it doesn't heat consistently when placed in the holder. The other day, after ironing for a couple of hours, I was ready either to take a sledge hammer to the thing or to head for the nearest bar to drown my frustration (and I don't drink!). I definitely would not recommend this poorly made item and plan to order a better brand as soon as I finish writing this review - cordless irons are still tops in my book.

Smartek ST2000 Iron1
I bought this product in 12/06. I was very pleased with the concept of the Cordless Iron it was easy to use and was nice not having that cord to drag around while in use. Problem was that it is creaked and squeaked and did not feel sterdy. After about 4mos it began to come apart the handle, water tank, and docking station. Also the base of the docking station deformed from the heat. What I noticed at that point that the manufacturer supplies no warranty information and only the manufacturer address information w/ no phone #s or website. I've now had this product for a little over 1yr 1mo it has now cease to function. I paid over $60 for this thing, it is good to see that they've decrease the price, but it not worth the investment to me at any price unless it can last more that 3yrs min

Smooth away wrinkles from hanging garments, upholstery, curtains, slipcovers, and more--faster and more gently than ironing--with this professional garment steamer. The 1400-watt unit quickly produces penetrating steam and features high-velocity steam jets that get the job done. It also emits ions to help remove static from clothing. Simply fill the tank with tap water and turn the unit on for up to an hour of continuous steam. Its "steam pause" function allows for steaming for an even longer period of time. The portable steamer moves freely from room to room thanks to its smooth-rolling wheels, while foot-pedal controls provide added convenience. Other highlights include a sturdy hanging pole, a cord reel, and a lightweight easy-to-store design. Accessories include a collapsible hanger, a removable cool-touch T-nozzle for changing the attachments, a crease attachment, a rigid comb, and a lint brush. The fabric steamer measures 21 by 13-4/5 by 14-4/5 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

a winner5
I abhore ironing and will wear wrinkly clothes before involving myself in such a mundane chore. I decided to read up on fabric steamers and read all of the reviews on this site for all of the brands. Since this is my first steamer I decided on purchasing one in a mid-price range because I wanted something a tad sturdier than the smaller models. The base width is nice and the wheels are large giving me the ability to move it around wherever I want. The pole is not tall enough in my opinion (a common thread I see in many reviews). I found myself sitting in a chair beside it to steam my clothing. If you are looking for that stiff starched look then this isn't for you but if you want to get dressed quickly in the morning with minimal wrinkles then you may like this model. The steam started up pretty quick and it was easy to catch on to the techniques suggested in the manual. I purchased this at Target.

Renewed my faith in fabric steamers!5
I love this garment steamer. Let me say, I am pretty experienced with this type of item; I have three portable fabric steaming units of all different brands, and I had one large standing unit much like this, but of a different brand. I used my old wheeled unit so much that I killed it in many ways - from the pole breaking off to the hose cracking, until it finally started smoking and I had to toss it (3x/week for a year).

Anyway - that was just to establish I am very familiar with steamers. If you aren't yet, or even if you're a fellow connoisseur, you will love this steamer. If you hate ironing - finding the right temperature for an article of clothing, getting around decorative areas or button holes, ironing a dress with tons of fabric where it winds up pressing wrinkles just from rotating it so much, this technology, and this unit, is for YOU!

This unit is FANtastic. It heats up in less than one minute which is pretty rare. I was worried that the steam might not be strong enough as it's silent and seems a bit gentle, but it does the job just right. There is practically no sound at all which is delightful - as with any hose if it's too low the steam condenses in the hose and will make a gurgling sound until you raise it straight up for a second. My cats were wary, but not afraid of this unit (good indicator of noise).

I love the following features:
*retractable and 8' cord (!)
*very easy to open and fill - and therefore to drain the water reservoir
*the built in 'clothes hanger' with two hooks for your own hangers
*the 'pause' steam feature
*the fact you can use it at any angle and it won't really drip on your clothes
*retractable pole means you can store it more easily - less prone to break while waiting to use again
*pants creaser!? Cool!!

Neutral:
the ion feature. I'm an ion nerd - I have three sharper image ionic breezes & a nightlight, and I swear by them - but I'm not sure the ion feature really 'does' anything. The plain steam made my clothing smell fresh (slight plastic-y smell when first running the new unit) but I could not smell the ions coming out from anywhere with my nose to it when I turned this function on, and yet I know it was functioning as the light was on, and I could hear a change in the sound. But, that is definitely the least important feature of this unit!

Also neutral on the hose heat - it's quite hot - enough that if you touch it it might make you retract your hand quickly - but it's not BURNING hot which is good :)

Con:
*The two removable 'heads' (for different types of fabric) never seem to really snap on - they don't attach in a satisfying kind of way. I can finagle them to stay on flush, but they don't really seem 'on.' I almost wondered if they were made for a different unit by Conair and then (retro)fit to this one instead.

More about great things:
*the built in 'hanger' - I know one reviewer said it was useless, but I found it fantastic. You just drop your garment on top of it, or button a shirt it around and steam like that. With sweaters that you might fold and not hang in your closet/bureau, this is especially a time saver. Sure, it doesn't work with pants so well (you can put the pants around it - just put on from beneath) but that's why it includes two hooks for your own hangers. I also LOVE the one-touch button to retract the top! very nice to get it out of the way if desired. Also it hold the head quite securely - ditto for the pants creaser.

*Steam pause: Just hit the pedal with your foot by a caster, and a red light comes on telling you it's pausing and not wasting steam. If you don't know why this really matters, when you have a huge pile to steam, every bit you can save will let you keep working longer by saving the steam. Sometimes I'd turn off my old unit but then there was a waiting period (taking clothes across the apt to closets, phone rings, various distractions, etc) for it to heat back up. This is a superb feature.

*pants creaser: handy little unit, it functions a bit like a straightening iron with a 'plate' where the steam comes out, and a plastic frame on the other side which you hold together to create a pants seam. This is one of the things which has still left me ironing, getting a good pants crease - but this is a super add-on! Also, please note that you can hold the clamp a bit tighter to get a more firm/deep pants crease.

The only thing this steamer can't handle is, for me, the dreaded linen fabric. If I try to steam the wrinkles out after wearing my skirt, which then has some deep-set wrinkles, I'm just out of luck. This is the ONLY item it hasn't worked for me, though! I suspect that the linen fibers need pressing of the iron.

This steamer works for me for: curtains, table cloths, very formal clothing (gowns of taffeta, sequins, or with ruching!), basically every fabric, sweaters, pants, coats, wool is DELIGHTFUL to steam! Very instant gratification to use this steamer, and you won't believe steaming your coats or woolen items.

If it's wrinkled you can probably safely and effectively steam it - always test a small area first! :) Enjoy!

I love this!5
I searched high and low and looked at all types of steamers online along with their reviews. I saw this one and loved the ion feature and without ANY reviews at the time I bought it. I am glad that I did. I hate ironing and will do everything possible to avoid it, but I WILL use this. I will just stand there and knock out the wrinkles while I am watching TV or a movie and it doesn't interfere with my family watching or take up too much space. It is really really nice and has done wonders on items that were in the dryer too long (ahem... over the weekend that is). Buy it and enjoy.... it looks good too!

Steel (1997) [VHS]
Directed by Kenneth Johnson

Amazon.com
Shaquille O'Neal plays a relatively recent DC Comics hero named Steel, an Army weapons engineer who dons a steel suit and does battle with various bad buys, including a weapons dealer (Judd Nelson) whose market is criminals. Sooner or later, somebody had to give Shaq the opportunity to finally prove he doesn't belong in movies, and this silly 1997 action movie--in which O'Neal could not possibly look more wooden--does the trick. --Tom Keogh

The absolute funniest movie I have ever scene in my life!5
Ok, this movie deserves to be watched again and again and again and again. My friend and I saw the last half of it on TV a couple months ago, and we laughed so hard that we decided to get the whole thing...it was one of the best investments I have ever made! One advantage to actually owning it on tape is that you can rewind it once, twice, thrice and watch the same scenes over and over until your sides bust! This movie is non-stop laughs, and I personally guarantee that you'll love it! STEEL! There are so many pointless, random scenes that just kill me! Get it! Get it! Go Steel, go! I haven't seen it yet, but I'm planning on going out and renting Kazaam (a movie where Shaq plays a genie! ) and if it's half as funny as Steel, I know I'll die laughing! RENT IT, STEEL IT, BUY IT, JUST SEE IT!

Someone....kill me now1
What is this.... I'd rather watch a penny collect rust than watch this again. OMGAWD. Shaq should be sent to Guantanamo Bay for this. I think this movie is an indication of the forthcoming end of time............

Why Butcher Shaq?3
Personally, I have no idea how Shaquille O' Neal would want to act in movies. He is not that good a voice actor at all, but he does great action stunts. I always liked Steel, even though I've hardly ever heard of him. At least the comics have an African-American character. Now, why would this movie be bad? The effects aren't THAT bad. It's not exactly predictable. And besides Shaq, everyone else acts well. It's a nice little plot, not too simple, keeping you confused at the beginning and making you feel good at the end. Of course, Annabeth Gish's character being able to walk again at the film's end is a bit much; if anything, they should have saved that for a sequel. Shaq has the size and the looks. His films are B material at best, but STEEL was obviously his best. KAZAAM, of course, was hilarious, but not as good as this. This movie was MEANT to be taken seriously, so don't expect too much. I mean, the romance in TITANIC, the 1998 romance/tradgedy, was awful. And on the back of the case, it said "Titanic has been hailed as the greatest motion picture of all time". That's bull. I mean, who wrote that, anyway? God, or something? At least STEEL doesn't brag like THAT. The movie is one of the best I've ever seen in action. They just should have found a tall black man who wasn't Shaq, and made the story longer, and this could've been a classic. Shaq, please don't star in any more movies. There's something just dumb about how you act. But you survived it. And if you can do that, I think the movie's viewers should be able to treat it with a little more respect. In other words, shame on all of you. At least Shaq TRIED.

The new FT i-brids are the latest in a long legacy of innovation to help make the game a little easier. Incorporating the Fusion Technology, the superior weight-shifting science created by Callaway Golf, the set features the new i-brid clubs that are designed to replace hard-to-hit long irons, and super game-improvement mid and short irons for the ultimate in forgiveness and playability. The i-brids combine the accuracy and control of irons with the forgiveness and versatility of hybrids. The set seamlessly transitions into mid and short irons that feature increased offset and a large effective hitting area. The lightweight titanium body, TPU SenSert t and heavy Tunite alloy combine to create the most forgiving and playable clubs we've ever made.

  • Brand: Callaway
  • Released on: 2009-03-04

Callaway's most technologically advanced game-improvement irons, the FT i-brid irons offer the ultimate in forgiveness and playability. The full set of FT i-brid irons includes three specific i-brids--clubs that blend the control and accuracy of irons with the forgiveness, distance, and versatility of hybrids--along with eight "super game-improvement" mid and short irons. The i-brid clubs offer a low, deep center of gravity (CG) that helps get the ball in the air quickly and easily, in addition to a wider sole that improves turf interaction. The mid and short irons, meanwhile, are extremely forgiving, with an increased offset, a larger effective hitting area, and a wider sole than standard irons. Add the clubs together and you have a set that performs seamlessly from the 3 i-brid to the loft wedge, with consistent distance separation and optimal trajectories all the way through.

The FT i-brid clubs are Callaway's most advanced game-improvement irons.
Callaway Golf Technologies
The FT i-brid irons represent the latest evolution of Fusion Technology, a multi-material process that gives Callaway Golf engineers the utmost freedom of design. Fusion Technology employs a philosophy called Complete Inertial Design (CID), in which Callaway engineers considered all of the club's characteristics collectively and created a design that balances those characteristics while optimizing performance. The key to CID is to avoid focusing on one characteristic at the expense of the club's overall performance. One major element of CID, for example, is to increase the stability of the clubhead, which is measured in terms of MOI. By raising the MOI on both the vertical and horizontal axes, and by positioning the weight to the perimeter of the clubhead, Callaway engineers were able to add stability to balls struck around the edges of the clubface. And because the clubhead rotates less during these swings, golfers lose less ball speed--helping the ball travel longer distances--and the ball goes straighter on off-center hits.

Fusion Technology irons also feature Tunite Alloy in the club cradle. The metal--newly created by Callaway Golf metallurgists--weighs approximately 20 percent more than stainless steel and is twice the density of titanium. This high-density alloy lets Callaway engineers move an astounding 80 percent of the clubhead's total weight to the extreme perimeter, creating a higher MOI for outstanding forgiveness. Engineers also added a TPU Sensert to improve the feel and create crisp, responsive acoustics. The TPU Sensert, a multi-piece injection-molded thermoplastic urethane layer that sits snugly behind the clubface, is tuned to the clubface to reduce vibration at impact. Finally, the FT i-brid irons include a Modified Tru-Bore design, which incorporates a polycarbonate tip plug at the end of the shaft to dampen vibration, producing an enhanced feel and performance.

The clubs include larger effective hitting areas and vibration-reducing TPS Senserts.

About This FT i-brid 8-Club Set
This particular set of FT i-brid irons includes eight total clubs: 3, 4, and 5 i-brids, standard 6-, 7-, 8-, and 9-irons, and a pitching wedge. Golfers have their choice of steel or graphite shafts and stiff, regular, or uniflex flexes.

Check out the FT Fusion from two years ago4
I play the FT Fusion Oversized that I bought a couple years ago. They are great clubs and I'm sure the new FT i's are great clubs, too. But the price is way high which is the only reason I only give these clubs 4 stars.

If you can find the old FT Fusion, buy them even if used to save some moola. Then put on new grips and off you go. Another point: only buy the irons that you need. If you have hybrids that you like, keep those and buy the irons to fill in the lofts you wnat. You can buy these clubs one at a time, you don't need to get the whole set.

Poor Materials2

B&D self reeling steam iron4
I like the fact that the dial is on the top of the iron and not under the handle. Also great, is the rewinding feature and no tangling or dangling wire.

I've used the iron several times, and find that unless I have it turned on to a high number for steam ironing, it irons, but doesn't steam. When it does, it does an excellent job. The dry iron is very good.

I haven't tried the self-clean feature; I will do so after a month or so. I've always used GE/Black and Decker irons and have been satisfied with them. My last iron which was not a Black and Decker, clogged up and though I set the iron for steam, it did not steam. And, what made me buy a new iron was that the dial (which was under the handle and difficult to turn) wound completely around and I could not tell whether it was ON or OFF.

In all, I am happy with my new B&D iron.

Steam out wrinkles quickly and easily with this 1200-watt iron. The unit's titanium-coated curved soleplate provides smooth, gentle gliding, while its temperature ranges from 176 to 392 degrees F to accommodate a variety of different fabrics. The iron's jet-of-steam function delivers a powerful burst of steam to help remove stubborn wrinkles (or to help clean the steam vents), and its push-button spray mist directs extra moisture where it's needed most. The iron also offers adjustable steam settings for heavier fabrics or simple touch-ups, as well as a "dry" setting for no steam output. To ensure safety, its mercury-free electronic sensor automatically shuts off the iron after 10 minutes if left in the upright position and after 60 seconds if left unmoved on its soleplate or if tipped over on its side. Other highlights include a 6-ounce water tank, a large water window, an ergonomic rubber-grip handle, and an automatic retractable cord reel for tidy cord storage. The iron measures 10-7/16 by 4-5/16 by 5-1/8 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

Nice Iron!5
So far I've used this on pattern paper and several different types of fabric. It has a nice weight that you can allow to do most of the work for you, and it has a wonderful grip. It is fairly easy to fill the tank, and if you use a 3/4 cup measure to do it, you'll be just under Max - the tank is just over 6 oz.

It glides beautifully over my fabric, though I had to be a little careful with the paper, since this iron is fairly well weighted. It has both a spray button and a steam button, and a simple switch between dry, some steam, lots of steam.

The retractable cord is a wonderful thing and works very well. Blessed thing to have when there are curious animals that like to chew on cords or anything string-like. Makes for neat storage, too!

Heats quickly, and reheats quickly if it has shut itself off. It gives you 10 minutes if it is in the upright position, so that is plenty fine.

I love this iron!

At last, I hope4
This is my 3rd iron in 6 months. I have had this iron for about 1 1/2 months so I am still waiting to see if it holds up. So far so good. My first iron was a B&D Digital2030 iron. Lasted 4 months and quit. Handle got hot and iron would turn on to Setting 1 after it was turned off. 2nd iron was a Shark brand. Didn't work from day one. Would only turn on if you unplugged the cord and then replugged. Returned that. So far, this iron is performing great. For a 1200watt iron it produced a lot of steam even without pushing the burst of steam button. I iron all my husband's work/dress shirts and need an iron that is adequate for cotton. The titanium coated soleplate is nice, but I do prefer SS. The tip of the iron is the best I have had so far. It is quite pointed and really gets into tight spaces. I sew quite a lot and this is great for pressing out corners. I purchased the titanium soleplate because of fusibles that I work with and need to be able to remove it. So far so good. The retractable cord is a nice feature although my iron is up and ready all the time. The cord c/b a little longer, but is probably limited because it is retractable. It does work nicely. The base of the iron is not too heavy (as it looks)and stands on the base really well. For the steam it produces, the amount of water it uses is remarkable. You don't need to fill it constantly, and it is fairly easy to fill. Didn't see the need for a removable water resevoir. A word of caution though - the iron needs to go thru several sessions to remove whatever is inside it. There was a slight fragrance the first few times I used it and it did deposit an oily (?)spot which came out easily on my white shirts. It did go away and now is fine. All in all, I recommend this iron. If it doesn't hold up I will come back and update my review. I do not recommend DIGITAL IRONS. I don't think the technology is there yet especially if you sew and leave your iron on a lot.

Great Iron for fusible4
Selected for it's titanium soleplate which cleans easily if you get fusible web fused onto it instead of fabric or the ironing board cover. Nice and light weight. Turns itself off, but reheats quickly.

The Right Sticks: Equipment Myths That Could Wreck Your Golf Game
By Tom Wishon, Tom Grundner

The average golfer knows little more about golf clubs that what they see in golf magazine advertising or on Golf Channel infomercials. This book is dedicated to making the game of golf more fun for more people-by helping the golfers choose "the right sticks." The authors debunk many myths about golf equipment and lead the reader through the process of arriving at the course with the right tools in their golf bags.

You really cannot buy your golf game . . .5
Before you spend another $400 to $500 on your next driver or $800 to $1200 on your next set of irons, you should consider reading this book.

Tom Wishon addresses many myths:

Does the modern club hit farther than the older clubs?
How much does moment of inertia play a part in your game?
Does your driver have a larger sweet spot?
The lower loft, the farther the ball will travel.
The second longest club in your bag.
Do golf balls make a difference?

The book is organized into sections: Clubhead, shafts, the assembled club, Fitting, grips and golf balls, special populations, the golf industry and custom fitting of golf clubs.

Each topic is clearly and concisely written. It is an owner's guide to the industry of golf.

This book has really made me reconsider buying the 'latest and greatest' new club on the market. The knowledge has already saved me at least ten to twenty-fold (the price of last year's 'hot driver').

His emphasis is on getting the proper club fitted to your swing.

I highly recommend it to the beginner, seasoned golfer, clubfitter, and golf retailer.

A Book Every Golfer Should Buy4
Tom Wishon is a highly respected club designer who has custom-built clubs for Payne Stewart, Scott Verplank, Ben Crenshaw and many other pro golfers.

If you really are serious about playing golf more consistently and better, then this is a book that you SHOULD/MUST read. It will help you understand why finding a good set of irons, a driver, putter, and wedges is such a costly, time-consuming trial-and-error process that is fraught with uncertainty and lots of marketing hype by the big name brand companies.

Golfers, especially those who suffer with a chronic slice from the tee, will find out why most "off the shelf" drivers are NOT made for distance AND/OR accuracy for the majority of golfers. THE RIGHT STICKS book will explain in clear, easy to understand terms what you can do to correct this and many other problems that result from most "standard" golf clubs.

I have been playing golf for many years and, after reading this book, was amazed (and enlightened) about so many aspects of hitting clubs consistently, accurately, and solidly for optimal distance and lower scoring. MOST of what is in this book you will NOT find in other golfing literature, at your pro shop, or at any of the large golf retail stores and web sites.

If you like this book and want to know more in-depth information about finding a set of clubs that is best suited to your swing, physique, athletic ability, and golf club likes and dislikes, then I highly recommend that you purchase Tom Wishon's book THE SEARCH FOR THE PERFECT GOLF CLUB.

Fight the Urge5
Golf Digest just published their Hot List; clubs that you can't live without. Before plunking down $400 or more on a new dirver, invest in this book for an alternative look on purchasing new clubs. Tom Wishon, a master clubmaker, makes a great argument for true 'custom fitting' by contacting one of the clubmakers on his website. You'd not go into a deparment store for a suit without trying it on for fit. And you certainly wouldn't take it home without needed alterations, right? So why would you got to a retailer or online merchant and purchase a club without the same considerations? His point is you wouldn't so why would you do the same with a golf club? One size doesn't fit all in mens/womens wear so what makes you think one size fits all in selecting golf clubs?

Inside Approach Flextee Launch Pad Practice Aid
From Jim Sowerwine Golf

Launch pad for practicing2
This is a simple training aid that has an arched plastic base with 2 fold out rubber flaps. Alignment lines allow a user to set up parallel to the target line. A small port allows you to put in your own tees. The device folds easily and can fit into a large pocket in a standard golf bag.

Hitting the driver with your own tees is good as any other mat. However, hitting hybrids or irons has a big drawback: The noise when you hit the ball and then the plastic base. It is distracting. It does simulate hitting turf with the flexibility of the arched plastic base. The base is relatively stable but can move with contact.

This does take some abuse from contact and is durable except for the rubber flaps.

There is a better alternative on the market:
TrueStrike Domestic Portable Mat

VERDICT:

Better products exist out there. Look elsewhere.

One thumb down.
