PANT PRESS Pantman Pant Press Machine - (Gray/Blue) I'M A WIDOWER HAVING TO LEARN HOW TO DO THINGS I NEVER BEFORE HAD TO DO . IRONING IS ONE OF THOSE THINGS. TRIED FOR SEVERAL YEARS WITH ONLY FAIRLY SATISFACTORY RESULTS.DECIDED TO TRY THE PANTMAN PANT PRESS. RESULTS BETTER THAN EXPECTED. EASY TO USE--PANTS LOOK GREAT--PRICE WAS RIGHT. VERY GOOD OVERALL EXPERIENCE. Reliable F1 Pantman The Pantman arrived essentially fully assembled. All that was needed was to plug in two feet. it is very well constructed of sturdy plastic and everything about it is quality. It works perfectly and makes an excellent crease. I even used it as a lark on a pair of chino pants that came out of the dryer with certainly no crease. The first application, it came out very nice. I pressed the bottom for a second application, and it came out nearly perfect. The Pantman has a tray for change but as it states, has no place to hang a jacket; however, while not intended for the purpose or any purpose, the top of the presser accommodates a jacket with just a slight bulge at the neck. All in all it is far better than the expensive wood one I had for years. I would recommend it without hesitation to anyone. pantman This pantman has done a wonderful job and my husband is thrilled about how good his pants look after being pressed in the pantman. I am very glad I selected this product.

Cooper Tools #SP40L 40W 120V Soldering Iron
From COOPER TOOLS

The Weller Marksman 40-watt soldering iron is the perfect tool for the beginner or hobbyist in electronics. Constructed to be high-quality and lightweight, this mini-pencil tool has a replaceable nickel-plated copper tip and a stainless steel barrel, plus a heat and impact-resistant handle. Its indicator light lets you see instantly whether or not the iron is activated, and it develops a temperature up to 900 degrees F/482 degrees C. This soldering iron is UL listed for safety.
Great for medium size jobs. This is 40 Watt soldering iron. My only complaint is that you have to buy fine tips separately. Since it is 40 Watts, this iron will heat up quicker than a 25 Watt. I do not recommend using it on fine work unless you can get a fine or smaller tip. It is a good iron to use for medium soldering jobs. Perfect for large solder joints I purchased this iron to solder leads and ground wires to potentiometers, switches and output jacks on electric guitars and basses. It works perfectly for this type of solder job - but beware... do not use this for fine work or on items that require low temp solder joints. This baby gets very hot! I gave it 4 stars because the iron stand is nearly useless and cheap. fantastic soldering iron I got this to replace a cheap one. I am so glad I did. I had no idea that I was missing out on easier soldering! This is a great soldering iron. It heats up fast and I am very pleased. The base is nice to have as well.

Whirlpool : LRF4001RY Fabric Freshener White
From Whirlpool

Forget taking your clothes to the dry cleaner and put away the iron because the Whirlpool LRF4001RY Fabric Freshener easily and conveniently removes odors and relaxes wrinkles without chemicals or detergents.
Amazon Sales Rank: #114472 in Kitchen & Housewares Brand: Whirlpool Model: LRF4001RY Dimensions: 30.50 pounds

Great for busy people! I read about this in the SkyMall catologue and when I checked in to the Marriott hotel, suprisingly there was one in my room. There was also a survey card near it so I think they're testing it out at hotels. For someone who travels about 80-90% of the year, and only spends weekends at home, this machine is great! I completely took any scent or odor out of my clothes, including perfume or food smells, and in addition, took out about 95% of the wrinkles. This machine is great for someone like me who is a busy professional that can never make it to the dry cleaners on time to pick up my clothes before they close, and many times, i just need the odor and wrinkles taken out. I had a shirt with a stain on it and I cleaned it with my shout wipe and stuck it in the Fabric Freshener and my shirt came out wrinkle and spot free and fresh. It cleans 2 garments at a time and the total cycle time is right around 30 minutes. You literally just put your clothes in, fill in the cup with water, zip up the bag, press the button and go watch tv or whatnots, and by the time your show is done, so is your clothes. One Flaw This would be a five-star item, were it not for one serious flaw. It comes with heavy clips, a.k.a. Tension Weights, much like heavy, giant bag clips, which you can attach to the bottom of a shirt, or pants, to help straighten out the wrinkles. You know the wrinkles that stretch horizontally across the back of a shirt after it's been worn? These clips are great for helping get rid of that. HOWEVER, the clips that came with my Fabric Freshener could not withstand the heat and fell apart after a few uses. If only Whirlpool would redesign these clips, which are made mostly of a soft plastic which starts to warp in a critical place, where plastic tabs grab the axle about which the clip pivots. In the meantime, I'm looking for a substitute. Pants hangers with the bars that clip onto the bottom of the pants legs are a start. They work with shirts, but they are too big for pants because the pants hang too close to the bottom of the appliance. Great when new, wears out fast For about 8 months, this thing was a lifesaver. Not as good as a good ironing, not as clean as dry cleaning, but I could dress professionally every day of the week, thanks to this contraption. As I was using it heavily (ave. 2-4 cycles per week) I kept up religiously with suggested maintenance, but alas one day, it would no longer take water for the steam cycle and was rendered useless overnight. I've ordered a new one hoping (possibly naively) this is a fluke but this otherwise 5-star product is downgraded owing to it's (in my opinion) way-too-early demise.

SUNBEAM 4043 Steam and Spray Iron

BEST IRON EVER! I bought this iron several years ago. It was without a doubt, the best iron I ever owned. Then, one day last month, I accidentally knocked it over on my concrete basement floor and it broke. I needed an iron ASAP, and had to purchase another brand, but plan to buy another Sunbeam 4043 as quickly as I can.

Elevate by Andis 67235 Professional Tourmaline Nano-Ceramic Clamp Flat Iron, 2"
From Andis Professional

The Andis Elevate 2” Tourmaline Nano-Ceramic Flat Iron has 20 variable heat settings for all hair types. The product is perfect While the charge for shipping was excessive product arrived in perfect condition and works very well, I have achieved very good results with its use Decent starter I bought this product a year from now discounted, which was less than $35. I think it's pretty basic for my needs. I have dry straight hair. I usually only use the lowest setting, which is still pretty hot. I haven't tried the highest settings as my hair is pretty easy to straighten. Seems a little slow to heat up, 2-3 minutes or so. But, heats up pretty well. I've used it maybe once a week with no problems. One thing I would advise is to follow the instructions. Like, this is not a wet to dry straightener. Also, it's no Sedu or CHI. But, I straighten my hair once in awhile, so no big deal. If you want to lengthen the life of your hair while straightening, be sure to use some thermal protection! Doesn't get very hot... Usually when using a good flat iron, after running it down my hair, my hair is so hot I can't touch it. Even on max temp, this one doesn't do that, and it doesn't smooth all the frizzies down.

Pellon Stop Shine Teflon Iron Cover

Great addition to the iron I've used this product for years - only had to replace it when I've moved and lost the one(s) I had in all of the boxes. From what I understand, the Teflon can wear off after several years of use - but I wouldn't know, because I tend to lose them before this could happen... I like this product as it fits pretty much all irons. I am an absent-minded crafter, I guess. Own several sewing machines and several irons. I like not having to have one cover for each iron. Helps protect fabrics from scorching and "shine" - especially velvets. I actually started purchasing this product specifically for use with velvets. I emboss velvets with stamped images. This product gives you a flat surface - no steam holes that would muck up the clarity of the stamped image. It also gives you a larger surface area, which allows you to arrange several stamps into a design that can be stamped in one pressing. I actually carve my own images and like making them larger than what you can normally find in stamps, and sometimes larger than the plate size on most irons. The one complaint I have is that the plate attaches to the iron with a metal spring. If it gets caught or just slides off a bit it can snap and hurt your finger a bit. Had it happen a few times. UPDATE - Sept 20, 2009: I am adding a quick update as I post reviews of a couple of other products. I rely heavily on ratings and reviews when making online purchases, so want to chip in. It is years later and I still swear by this product. I've found nothing else like it. One is always on my iron and I actually sell it in my online rubber stamp shops. I consider it a must-have for velvet embossing with rubber stamps and have had nothing but positive customer feedback on the product. Great for general clothing/fabric care as well. (Plus I haven't snapped my fingers with the spring for a very long time.) ;) Given that this type of product is pretty rare - and this particular one can fit on so many iron models - today I would rate it 5 STARS. Perhaps the spring attachment could be improved, but I've had the same shoe on the one iron I now use for several years and it holds in place. (It might not work so well on smaller irons, craft irons - the face is large and the spring may be loose if the overall iron is small.) I have not experienced any wearing of the Teflon. I realize I may be considered biased, as I now sell the product myself, but I do not carry many types of crafting accessories and specifically chose to carry this item because of its unique benefits. I do not work for the manufacturer (or receive any perks or discounts from them), I do not sell the item on Amazon. I recommend the product as a household and crafting accessory regardless of where it is purchased. Cheers Good Product -- But Has Some Attachment Issues I purchased the Teflon Iron Plate in late 2006 because the sole plate on an iron that I purchased seemed to collect spray starch and get sticky quickly. The Teflon Plate corrected that issue but it was a bit of a struggle getting it attached to the iron. The Teflon Plate comes with a spring like attachment intended to pull up over the iron to secure the iron. That didn't work well with our particular style of iron. The plate also shifted around a lot during use. I think it would work better with an iron with a larger sole plate.

Beat the inevitable wrinkling of clothes packed in your luggage with this nifty travel iron from Rowenta. Aptly named Latitude, this model features the power of steam and the versatility of a full-size iron in a scaled-down edition. With a sliding temperature control, the iron handles synthetics, wool, and cotton at the appropriate heat levels. Three steam options let you steam constantly or in bursts, or use the vertical delivery for hanging garments. Designed for effortless glide, Rowenta's stainless-steel soleplate is scratch resistant, with a mirror finish and an arc of dimples to reduce drag. The comfortable handle folds up for storage and locks into place for use, and the built-in water tank is easy to fill and empty. With true dual voltage, the iron works with 120- or 240-volt systems. Complete with its own durable nylon bag for travel, the little Latitude is well worth the extra space in your suitcase. --Emily Bedard
I finally found a travel iron that actually works!!! Over the years I have purchased a number of travel irons, only to be disappointed when they did not do the job. I resigned myself to wearing wrinkled clothes on vacation. But I have to say the Rowenta has made a believer out of me. Unlike most travel irons, this heats just as well as an home iron and it does an excellent job when it is used as a vertical steamer. And the nylon carry case is a plus.I cannot recommend this product enough. Buy with confidence. Travel Sharp As a veteran hotel jockey, I try to unfold our suitcase to find a travel mess with our clothing. The travel inon from Rowenta has been not only a travel saver, but a business saver. We look as great as (or at least our clothes) possible. The multi-function of the steam is the best we have encountered. An added bonus, was is the free shipping with a purchase over [money] with Amazon.com. A truly winning combination. We could not sing enough praise about this product. It even looks great! The price at Amazon is even the best we have found. A travel jockey must! Great Travel Iron! I travel quite a bit with my fiance and we always had wrinkled clothes after my poor packing job in our suitcase. I decided to get this travel iron to help and I have not been disappointed! This iron is tiny (weighs I think 1.7 pounds) and works extremely well! It heats up just as well as my at home iron! One of the other great features is the vertical steamer, which works extremely well too. It is very portable, especially since the handle folds to lie flat. It comes in a nice travel pouch as well. The cost is extremely reasonable too, especially if it shows up in your gold box! With free shipping its a real bargin. I highly recommend this iron, you will not be disappointed!

Hot Item This is a great item in you're in the market for a crimper. In fact, it's the only one I've been able to find in the last couple of years. As a straighter, it works fairly well, but not as single-purpose straighteners. The plates are easy to change, and there is a locking mechanism to prevent burns while you are heating or cooling the styler. However 1) there is no on/off, you can only turn it off or on by the plug and 2) there is no handle and the plastic heats up quite a bit. Overall I would say it's a decent quality item for the price.

Black & Decker Classic Iron F65E with Nonstick Soleplate, White

Black & Decker The Classis Steam Dry Iron I bought this iron because I liked the weight of it. I sew a lot and a heavy iron is helpful for fusing interfacing when sewing. The problem I had with the iron is that it doesn't heat properly. Right out of the box, brand new the iron did not get hot enough to turn the water into steam, even on the highest temperature settings. Cord is too short My complaint with this iron is that it doesn't have a longer cord. Other than that it does a great job. A nice no frills iron. The Heavyweight Iron Champ It's always good to rely on something as STURDY as this iron. The weight adds to the swiftness of ironing the creases of the clothes. You can tell it's manufactured really well once you've received it. The metal plate warms up fast and is definitely made to cater to different types of fabrics. This definitely falls on my recommended products list.

Ironing Sleeve with an Emblem Patch? I work for a federal agency which requires me to wear a uniform and since I prefer to do my own shirts instead of paying someone else I needed and easier way to get my sleeves ironed without leaving an impression of my emblem patches on the other side of the sleeves. This item has completely solved the problem and has made sleeve ironing much easier. Definitely recommend to anyone with a uniform shirt. Great little ironing board at a great little price! I bought this sleeve board to use mostly for ironing the legs of my pants, as I don't wear many long-sleeved shirts. It is really nice to have, to prevent creases on the back side of sleeves, pant legs, etc. I wish I had had it, too, when my kids were little, as I can see that it would be perfect for smaller clothes. what a bummer well, unfortunately this is another of those items that you buy with high hopes, but it ends up just taking up space in the closet... issues i have with it: 1. it moves around when i'm trying to get the sleeve on it (i need a couple more hands) 2. due to the location of the stand, i'm unable to get the whole sleeve onto the board, so really you can only do the end of the sleeve. I tried using it twice and gave up. it's not worth the extra time it takes just to do one tiny part of the sleeves.

A perfect "guys" iron When my old iron recently self destructed on me, (I didn't even know they had a self destruct switch) I popped onto Amazon and ordered up a new one. The first thing you'll notice is the nice price and the free shipping. That shipping I found out is also fast, I ordered it on a Wed morning and Thurs night it was waiting for me. It's a great basic iron for anyone who doesn't do a great deal of ironing. It's very light weight, although maybe a little too light, I've already knocked it off the counter a couple of times and the little arrow you set the temperature with is a little hard too see (picky, picky) but if you really only have to do a few shirts for work, it's perfect. Smartek Steam Iron "I purchased this iron about a week ago and it is great. There are multiple level settings for steam as well as temperatures. The steam works really well and the iron gets really hot. It is a lightweight iron. I recommend this iron for anyone who does a lot of ironing or for someone (like me) who don't do much ironing but wants a GOOD iron when I do." The Best of the Best I'm impressed with this iron because the price is so reasonable and the product is reliable. It's easy to spend more money on something that may seem to be better because of it's BRAND name but why pay more when this iron is just as good or better.

Men's TaylorMade Rescue Mid Woods Utility
From TaylorMade

The TaylorMade Rescue Mid features a higher moment of inertia than a long iron and a lower, deeper center of gravity. These elements work together to produce an expansive sweetspot and sought-after combination of high launch angle with higher spin that produces high, long, fast-stopping shots. In addition, the Rescue Mid features Pull-Face construction technology, which allows TaylorMade engineers to design a small-yet-flexible clubface with high COR, adding ball velocity, and subsequently, distance.

Alternative to the conventional 3 iron For those of you who have trouble hitting a conventional 3 iron consistently in your bag, this hybrid will improve your score. The two tone black/metallic color does not cause a glare and the club is easy to address. The club sets up square and has a little bit of offset. Feedback from a well struck swing is excellent. With this club (versus a conventional 3 iron), I typically hit it with a draw. It is the only club that I can hit a draw consistently. I also utilize the 4 hybrid (22 degrees). I have improved my score by 2 to 3 strokes since taking out the 3 and 4 irons out of the bag. The major issue is that it goes about 15 to 20 yards further for me, than a well struck 3 conventional iron (which doesn't happen often) - so it functions more like a 5 wood in the bag, for me. You need to try this club out and see where it falls into the scheme of your yardages. Many newer hybrids sell for $150 to $200. At the current discounted price, it's a steal.

HORRIBLE IRON - buy Rowenta instead! I foolishly bought something other than my beloved Rowenta irons when I saw this attractive iron that looked so high end. NOT! Within ONE MONTH the doggone thing rusted (and left rust spots on my clothes before I noticed!), leaked during upright storage AND THEN DIED SUDDENLY for no reason! Within ONE MONTH! You should avoid the Shark brand as if you were swimming in the ocean. worst iron I have owned I purchased this iron about 6 months ago (not from amazon) and thought I might have made a great purchase. It worked wonderfully at first, but then began acting up by turning off when using it and you would constantly have to turn it back on by shaking it (auto off feature). Finally, it quit working. In my opinion, it is a waste of money! And I paid $59 for it! Now, I'm off to find a better iron. Hope your insurance is paid up I purchased this iron for my wife approximately 2 months ago. It was shiny and seemed to fit my wife's needs (she does alot of sewing). It worked well until yesterday when it CAUGHT FIRE!!!!! I have read several other accounts of this same issue. Avoid this iron like the plague.

Bernzomatic TS4000 Trigger Start Torch

The BernzoMatic trigger-started cast aluminum torch head light is a self-igniting high-temperature torch head designed for easy operation. Simply pull the trigger for ignition, and release it to turn off. This head produces a swirl flame and burns propane or mapp gas. Pressure regulation allows the flame to burn in any direction and ensures consistent performance. Even while the flame burns, the replaceable brass tip stays cool. The stainless steel burn tube, cast aluminum body, and brass burn tip are constructed for durability. The BernzoMatic torch head weighs 1.3 pounds and is backed with a 1-year limited warranty. IRWIN Industrial Tools Trigger Start Torch is designed to increase fuel savings and convenience. It keeps the torch lit for finger-free use and produces swirl flame for maximum heat output. This torch has pressure which is regulated to burn in all directions. It is made from cast aluminum which ensures extreme durability. This torch is of multi-application and can be used with propane fuel.
Easy start torch, either propane of MAPP I bought this torch, because I saw some plumbers using one. It starts with a button push (utilyzing a built in piezoelectric spark generator), so you can turn it on and off without any hassel. My older torches all require an external ignition source, usually a flint spark tool used by oxy-acetylene welders. So, once I light one of my older torches, I usually leave it on. Also, I have separate MAPP and propane torches - this torch burns both gasses, and does not seem to spit or flare up on MAPP when inverted, as my older torches do. But it does cost twice as much. You get what you pay for. By the way, MAPP = MethylAcetylene ProPadiene. Simply the best! I think my first trigger start Bernzomatic torch (not sure if exactly the same model)lasted about 15 years. Wife gave me a TS3000 for XMAS to replace it. I had to return it and cannot recommend the TS3000 since you have to manually turn the gas on and off. The TS4000 allows for one handed operation with gas flow and ignition controlled by a single knob. Squeeze..its on...release its off. I cannot imagine performing a large plumbing job without this tool. The Wonderous BernzoMatic TS4000T Never have I lived and worked so well now that I possess possibly the best propane torch ever invented. My life is now a bit more painless and more secure. Many thanks to the the creators of the Bernzomatic ts4000. Truth to tell, I have used the old type of torches for many years. I have always felt a little uncomfortable using them. The torches are top heavy and when in use, working, it has always been troubling finding a place to sit the torch when lit that would not accidently fall over. At last I am free from finding a stiker to light it.I can easily turn it off and just lay it down. The additional safety feature of the torch, only being on when needed, and the effeciency of not burning any more fuel than one needs makes this tool one that every craftsman should own. This new design is well worth the money.

Professional results in less time! I purchased the 32" model, after reading reviews that complaint about the small steam area in some other models. After using this steam press for 4 loads of mixed family laundry I am truly impressed. At first, I had to get used to placing the items on the press correctly, but once I learned how, my husband's pants took only 4 presses to get professional looking results. The secret to cutting the number of presses on thick clothing down is to use the water bottle in addition to the steam from the press. On my children's clothes, 2 presses on one side of the fabric is all that is required. I love this machine, and my husband was sceptical at first for spending over $200, but after he saw his pants and shirts neatly pressed, he agreed that it was a purchase worth while. FEIYUE YAMATA Family Press FP202L The steam press is a great item. A bit pricey, but the convenience is worth it. We bought this unit to make ironing school clothes go faster, and maybe even press some of my husband's work shirts. The unit is well made, and heats up evenly and fast. The steam reservoir is generous and provides a nice burst of steam- really helps to get the wrinkles out! Kids cotton shirts come out great- just two presses (I can only fit 1/2 the shirt on the press at a time)with a bit of starch and they go to school looking neat. Pants are still a bit of trouble- especially in the seat area. I like to press the legs and then iron the rest. As with typing... practice makes perfect. I know in a few more days I will have it down to a science. The unit is heavy and well balanced, but does tip when applying the lock for the press. It may be worthwhile to invest in the customized stand. didn't last I too LOVED this machine for the two months it worked. After two months it wouldn't heat anymore. The manufacturer was willing to repair but it would cost almost $100 to get it shipped to them DHL and another $35 they charge to ship it back. (saving the original box would have cut my cost to ship it to them by about $20). That would almost pay for a new one. I will look for a different brand this time.

UNBEATABLE! My wife had one few years ago but it stopped working after 3 or 4 times it felt down to the floor. Then, she had tried not less than 6 brands and models of irons, but no one as good as this one. It really works fast. Try it and you will love it. I bought two of them, just in case. I'll never buy another iron less than 1500 Watts! 100% recommended. Great Iron The last few years, I've been through several irons. This iron is great so far, but first a few comments on irons in general. How I wish I had not thrown out that very old electric iron when it broke. It was basic and could easily tackle any type of material. You moved the heat setting higher by the numbers (1, 2, 3, etc.) There was no need to translate the numbers to the type of material. That is something I can do myself by how well the material can be ironed on a heat setting. One would think in this day and age that there would be some great choices in irons. I expected much more from the newer irons, but over the years I probably purchased 4 - 5 irons and have not been happy with any of them. They each broke for different reasons after only a couple of years which is typical of irons today. This time I did some on-line research, which served to support what I found in my own iron purchases. Irons are more delicate today and have way too many features that are not needed. They break easily and don't last more than a few years. Don't knock one over or that may well be the end of the iron. My last iron only had 1100 watts. The reviewer who said not to buy an iron under 1500 watts is correct. The difference in ease of ironing is amazing. I felt guilty buying a new iron when I had one that worked but there really is no comparison. An 1100 watt iron makes ironing a real chore and tires you out. Right after I bought the new iron, I noticed the sole plate on the old iron was starting to peel off. I threw it out. Now back to the new iron. This year I tried iron-on transfers for the first time. This iron was perfect for that task. I plan to do a lot of sewing this year, and this iron will be up to the task of ironing any material. If I had a lot of ironing to do, I think it would work well for regular ironing. The cord length is nice. The weight of the iron is good as it isn't too heavy. The iron glided easily over the material. It seems well made. I rarely use the steam feature on irons, so can't comment on that. I find it much easier to dampen clothes by sprinkling water on them and rolling them up a few minutes prior to ironing. My wish list for irons: One feature I would drop would be the beeping feature that tells you when an iron is hot enough. It is unnecessary. I mean if you can't tell when an iron is hot enough without bells and whistles, then perhaps you should not be ironing. It is just one more thing that could cause an iron to break. Looking far back at that very first iron (dark ages in irons), I would also like to have an iron with a dial setting that lets you turn the heat higher or lower as needed. What I would like to see the iron manufactures do is to produce a solid, reliable basic iron at about 1700 watts without a computer or integrated circuits or fancy features. If this iron gives me any problems, I'll be back with an update but so far I love it.

Efficient and clean iron I truly enjoy using this iron. While it's difficult to find the Downy Wrinkle Releaser in the stores, I recently ordered the product from the Downy website after using the sample included with the iron. The iron has a large plate and irons quickly and efficiently. There is lots of steam and usage of the wrinkle releaser makes the wrinkles disappear faster. My shirts look great every day now.

Love it! I get monthly chemical relaxers, so I just need a flat iron to take the texture out of my hair when I blow dry. I don't know about using a flat iron as a daily straighener because my hair is already chemically straightened. My texture is medium-coarse and this iron leaves my hair shiny and soft. I use my FHI once a week whenever I wash it, and I feel the difference for days. The CHI may have just been too hot for my hair because the one I had didn't have the temperature setting. After I used this FHI a few times, I gave my old CHI to my friend. My hair would be shinny with the CHI, but it would also feel hard and fried. Plus after about 2 days, it seems like it needed to use some serious CHI heat again which may have contributed to my hair breakage so I stopped using it. My hair dresser uses FHI and my hair always feel great. I would get many compliments so after getting my hair back into health, I turned again to the high heat ceramics. When I use the FHI, I can go a nearly a week with using minimial or no additional heat. I especially noticed the difference in the back of my hair (known to some as the "kitchen"). I still use my good cheapo ceramic conair iron daily at a low setting as needed. I could also use the FHI daily at the lower settings, but the cheaper irons do just as well after my hair is initially strengthened with the FHI. So why burn out this expensive iron everyday? I've used many flat irons and hair products. To me, the health of your hair and your regime makes a huge in the determining whether a hair tool or hair product works. I definitely recommend any flat iron that is ceramic. Even the cheap ones help my hair hold moisture - less frying. It makes a huge difference for me! Combine it with a ionic dryer, a great conditioner and setting lotion, and I am good! Can't Ask For Much More.... I have very coarse curly hair, and this iron does the trick. It gets super hot, heats up in about 15 seconds and straightens quickly and very effectively. I can get it to that nice silky smooth straight, not the disappointing straight-ish frizz girls like me are often stuck with. I thought about the 1 3/4", but the 1" lets me get my bangs and it's still no problem for handling long hair quickly. I used Amazon Prime and got it the next day.Couldn't be happier! Highly Dissatisfied with this FHI I decided to try this FHI platform flat iron based on the many good reviews these flat irons have received. However, I returned this FHI because it altered the texture of my hair regardless of which temperature I used. Applying heat protector products for hair did not change the strange results I was getting. My hair looked terrible with the use of this flat iron. Moreover, it was taking too long to style my hair with this product. I am caucasian with medium thick, tends to frizz, shoulder length hair and my old Paul Mitchell flat iron always produced great results in just a few minutes-smooth,straight and shiny hair. So, I returned the FHI and ordered the Paul Mitchell Ion styler flat iron which I am alot happier with. I'll be sticking with the Paul Mitchell stylers in the future.

Worked for me This product works perfectly fine as long as you maintain it as it tells you to. After every use you are suppose to clean it out so you dont have this "brown stuff." The brown stuff is the chemical reaction between the salt and the steaming water. In order to prevent it from coming out of the steamer, you are suppose to wash your italsteam after every use, failure to do so will make the "brown stuff" to come out. I have used it tons of times on my Suit just before it needs to be used and no stains or anything but steam coming out of it. Works perfectly for me. If you need a light weight travel steam iron this works perfectly. If you plan on using it and not maintaining it as instructed, then this may not be the product for you. Very worth my $35 at the mall. Do not buy I bought one from a mall kiosk. Problems: (1) black water will get on your clothes if you are not careful to rinse it out each time. (2) You have to refill it 2 or 3 times for each shirt. (3) The unit gets very hot and if you are not careful to only touch the handle, you will get burned. (4) It takes more power the more salt you put in it. It would dim my lights and it can easily blow a fuse. Rust The "brown stuff" mentioned in some of the reviews for this product is most likely rust. If this iron works like a similar model I've owned in the past, it probably requires salt to be added to the water. The added salt would further accelerate the formation of rust. You may have some luck removing rust stains from clothing using fresh or bottled lemon juice on the stains and allowing the clothing to dry in the Sun. Then, wash the clothing as usual. If that doesn't work, you may want to try a product know as, "Iron Out." Summit Brands #IO12N 18OZ Super Iron Out In any case, try to remove the rust stains BEFORE you put the clothing through the dryer (i.e., first try lemon juice and then try Iron Out). Otherwise, the heat from the dryer may cause the stains to set permanently.

happy with the torch I'm happy with the torch. I like the bonus can of fuel so you can use it right out of the box. It does get warm when you use it. Not sure how long I would want to use it before allowing it to cool off. It does the job I bought it for of melting wire. Might even try to use it in cooking. It is very easy to operate and lights quickly. I like it. I first bought a micro torch from harbor freight that stopped working after one use. I returned it for a refund. The blazer looks similar to that torch but must be of a better construction. The blazer is still working after several projects. I would recommend it. I love amazon shopping. High Quality Item This is THE BEST butane torch you could possibly buy! There aren't too many products that you can get nowadays that will last you for a lifetime and only cost you $40.00 but this is one of them. I simply cannot stress how much better it would be to invest in this torch rather than buying the pocket torches or even the cheaper hand-held torhces that, from my experience, either break within a few months or suffer from gradual degradation of torch performance until it is no longer usable for its original purpose. Essentially, if you are going to need a butane torch for whatever reason, buy this one as you will most likely never need another torch again! As a side note, yes, this is the same torch that, at the time of writing this, had 15 five star reviews and two four star reviews. The only difference is that you get a $7.00 can of butane fuel for an extra $0.25. Look no further for the highest quality butane torch out there! Absolutely Fantastic This is the greatest little device since sliced bread. A million uses around the house too.

Not for serious soldering This maybe suited best for arts and crafts projects with all its different attachment tips, but if you want to solder electrical parts, forget it. The soldering tip never gets hot enough for quality work. Better to spend the extra money and get a real soldering iron that works. Disappointed I wanted to get a btter soldering iron to take care of a few loose ends. I saw this in my search and thought that I could use it for some crafts as well. On my first use a tip broke in the iron. I sent it out for repair and am waiting on a replacement. Very Handy combination... With the Hot Knife tools, the dual power selectibility and the excellent base station with holding clamps, this is excellent for use in my R/C Airplane hobby.

DeLonghi Stiromeglio Compact PRO 300 Ironing System with Pressurized Boiler
From Delonghi

The professional-quality ironing system with pressurized boiler gives you fresh, perfectly ironed garments every time. The very high volume of dry, powerful steam makes ironing quicker and more effective leaving dampness. It features the first double-material boiler made of a stainless-steel upper and super-alloy bottom that allows tap water to be used without the risk of valve occlusion. The molded tank allows for the heating element to be imbedded in the bottom rather than attached to the outside, creating a much better thermal capacity of the boiler for longer, more consistant ironing temperatures. The iron has a fully adjustable thermostat and steam flow to allow for perfect ironing on any type of fabric, and it can also be set for continous steam for vertical steaming of curtains, coats, etc. The professional cork handle provides hours of fatigue-free ironing, and the steam tube can be attached to either side of the boiler to accomodate either left- or right-handed people. All this and more in a beautiful professional ironing system that is backed by a three-year guarantee.
Amazon Sales Rank: #5763 in Kitchen & Housewares Brand: DeLonghi Model: PRO300 Released on: 2005-09-15 Dimensions: 12.00" h x 13.00" w x 10.00" l, 12.87 pounds
Steam away creases in a badly crumpled shirt with the Compact Pro 300 Ironing System from Italian home appliance giant DeLonghi. The iron improves upon previous steam irons with its enhanced pressurized boiler, constructed to convert even harsh tap water into steam. With an adjustable thermostat and varying steam levels, the professional ironing system accommodates a wide variety of fabrics, ranging from delicate silks to cotton and linen. The well-designed iron handle adapts for left- and right-handed users alike. The steam iron features a heavy-duty aluminum soleplate with a polished satin finish for snag-free, smooth ironing with even heat distribution. DeLonghi crafted the boiler in two materials to extend its steam conversion capacities, using stainless-steel construction in the upper portion and a super-alloy bottom. For greater thermal heat, the boiler tank is molded to enable the heating to rest within the bottom. The tank holds up to 1 liter of water for 2 hours of steam ironing. Users grip the ergonomically friendly cork handle to operate the iron. The ironing system also adjusts to steam vertically for curtains and hanging items. As with all electrical appliances, read the enclosed warnings and user guidelines for the steam iron before use. This item is covered by a limited three-year warranty and weighs 13 pounds upon shipping. --Jessica Reuling
A Different Beast! Apparently, I am one of the few remaining individuals who feel the need for freshly ironed clothing. I've always used steam irons, Rowenta most recently, with consistently disappointing results. Over the years, I've increased my use of spray starch to make up for the power I've believed should have originated in the iron. But no more! After deciding I wasn't ready for a presser or a mangle for my clothing, and knowing I really didn't need to press that many tablecloths, I discovered a new genre: steam generating irons. And, after some significant research, I ordered this DeLonghi model. It is truly a different beast than anything I've ever used! What steam production!!! The temperature of the iron sole plate is controlled independently from the quantity of steam desired. Tap water is actually recommended for use. The iron, while substantial in heft, is not heavy. And the old-fashioned looking cork handle is soft, smooth and cool to the touch. But the bottom line is the job it does on my clothing and linen! While the ads say that this machine will cut your ironing time in half, I cannot say this is true.....mainly because I find myself taking the time to marvel over how each pass with the iron produces such a professional-looking surface! Really, the only thing that's been halved is my use of spray starch, which is an unforseen and welcome benefit! Am I happy with my new "beast?" You bet! Would I buy another? No way....I suspect this well-designed machine is going to last me a long, long time. But can I recommend one for you? Without reservation! Stiromeglio Delonghi Ironing System We just got this product and we love it! The iron generates really powerful steam that reduces time by half. The iron per se is really light, which helps as well. We used to spend no more than $50 for an iron that we would throw away after 1-2 years of frustration: heavy, not powerful (always check wattage before buying an iron!) and losing ability to deliver heat over time. Bottom line: if you like saving time and making ironing a less painful activity, definitively go for this product. Bought it at Amazon for $150 (using Kitchen & Housewares $25 coupon) minus discount from amazon visa. It comes with 3-year warranty. A must. Great Iron, can't get better for home/small business use. I really like this, semi-industrial model. I use to work with the industrial irons before and this one has almost as much steam as the professional one. So, if you cannot afford to buy another larger boiler to stay in your house, this model would be just perfect!

Had to return it! I bought this steamer for my boyfriend for Christmas since a 'dry-cleaner' type steam press was on his list. He tried it and was very disapointed. I researched quite a number of steamers like it and this one had the biggest surface area and had some good customer reviews but it didn't live up to them. The area was still too small and could only steam about the width of a sleeve. I was disapointed that we had to return it but it really wasn't up to par. I would not recommend this product. good steamer i read a lot of reviews and finally decided to buy it. and i don't know how i ever got along without it. i used to dry clean my uniforms so i could get those killer creases. since i got new cotton uniforms i couldn't starch them so i decided on this steamer and it cut my ironing time by at least half. and i actually look foward to ironing. i don't know how it is with women's clothing but if you're a guy you gotta have it. Steam Press that I LOVE I simply love my Stream Press machine, talking about having your very own dry cleaner in the convenience of your own home. When I think of all the money I save by doing all my own clothes (jeans, shirts, ties and even curtains) as oppose to throwing money to my local dry cleaner. Than the time that I save by using the Stream Press as oppose to the old fashion iron and ironing board. Stream Press pays for itself the very first time you use it. Toss out your old fashion iron and ironing board and save money too.

A good iron at last Ironing and irons are not something one gets excited about. We have owned several irons over the years that usually lasted 2-3 years. Two weeks ago our [amt]Proctor-Silex caught on fire and we were forced to search for a new iron. We looked at several before choosing the Bosch TDA1302UC. We did not want to get another disposable iron from Wal-Mart. We looked at the Rowenta irons and thought they were too heavy and a bit too pricey. So far the Bosch has been a pleasure to use. It has very good ergonomics and it very well balanced unlike many irons that we have owned The self-cleaning nozzle feature is nice. We do a lot of craft type activities and it is nice not to have the auto shutoff feature. We have owned other Bosch products (dishwasher)and they have been very reliable, efficient machines. I would definitely recommend. Bosch is still the best! I recently purchased this Bosch iron a few months ago. It has been working quite well so far. The main thing I like about this iron is that it's fairly lightweight to use, unlike most irons which are heavy and become a chore to use. The only minor drawback I think it has is as mentioned in the other review, about the leaks from using the steam function. But I have read complaints about leaks from over $100 irons! And look at the price-$45/what a bargain! Bosch is still the best! I recently purchased this Bosch iron a few months ago. It has been working quite well so far. Use the iron on a flat surface for traditional ironing or hold it upright for vertically steaming out wrinkles from curtains or hanging garments. For safety and peace of mind, the iron will shut off automatically after 30 seconds of inactivity if left on its soleplate or tipped over on its side; if left vertically on its heel rest, it will shut off after eight minutes. Other highlights include a large 10-4/5-ounce water tank, an anti-drip system that prevents spitting and leaking at low temperatures, an integrated anti-calc and self-cleaning system to ensure optimal performance, a 7-foot cord with a 360-degree pivot, and an ergonomically designed handle to reduce hand and wrist stress. The iron measures 11-2/5 by 5 by 6 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.
New Top of the Line Rowenta Delivers...IF YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS I must confess that I read through almost all the reviews of the other Rowenta Irons, and was on my way to purchasing the Advancer when I saw this new model. First off, for people who are familiar with Rowenta irons, the ones made in Germany (as this one is) tend to be larger in size than an average iron. If you don't mind wielding a big iron, then you'll be ok with this one. The water chamber is also larger, so that adds to the weight when filled. Secondly, it makes a great deal of difference whether the Rowenta is made in China or Germany. Since this one is German-made, you will have less trouble. I tend to stay away from anything made in China, especially when it combines electronics with water. Simply put, China's quality control still leaves a lot to be desired. Third and most important: FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS! Rowenta goes to great lengths on their website and user manual to recommend the following: DO NOT USE DISTILLED WATER. DO NOT USE BRITA WATER FILTRATION SYSTEM. They recommend Bottled Spring Water. You may use regular tap water if water in your state is "soft" (lacking in minerals). If you have to use regular TAP Water and you are not sure whether your tap water is hard or soft, contact your town hall OR go to Google and type in "water" "usgs" "gov" The first USGS website on top is the one created by the US Govt to show the hardness of water in your state. You want to type in "water hardness" when you are on that site, and a North American map showing water hardness by state will pop up. The harder your tap water (more minerals), the more you want to mix 50% of it with 50% "bottled spring water." (Though I have seen the Spring water recommendation from Rowenta for all their earlier irons, the Steamium manual did not have it.) So I called up Rowenta and was advised that Bottled Spring Water is the only thing they recommend these days. Being a perfectionist when it comes to ironing, I use 100% bottled spring water to eliminate any doubt. Why? Because unlike many regular irons, the higher end Rowentas have Anti-Calc features that break down the natural minerals in regular tap water. If you use distilled water, it goes against the mechanism and things start to go wrong. Rowenta steam irons have been designed to operate using tap water, up to 12 grains of hardness per gallon (12 gr/gal or 205 mg/l or 2.05 mmol/litre) The squarish platform in front of the handle (on the top) is a lit reading that shows you what setting you currently have it on. The light is green and it lights up the words "wool, linen, cotton, etc." There is a trigger on the bottom of the handle (where your index finger is if you hold the iron). When you iron, you can squeeze it to create what Rowenta calls "forced steam" which pushes 30% more steam into the fabric. The trigger sets off a pump that makes a fairly audible whirring mechanical noise. It's important to note that if you have the iron plugged in and turned off, the trigger will still set the pump off. But it works. And it works very well. The vertical steam also sets a nice burst of steam into your clothing. I notice that depending on the size of your hand, it is sometimes difficult to keep my finger off the forced steam trigger when I hold it vertically. However, if you accidentally press the trigger, it does not affect the burst of steam in any way. It's good for 5-7 squeezes before it needs to reheat, which is only several seconds. If you find the unit too heavy to hold up (when it is filled and vertical), you can use your other hand to hold the rear of the iron's handle for support. The auto shut off works and stays blinking until you pull the plug from the wall outlet and re-insert it. This resets the auto-shut-off mechanism for the next detection. The item comes with a tall slim plastic water spouted "pitcher" to help you pour water neatly into the iron. The front tip of the iron is extra pointed for getting perfect creases on shirt and pleat corners (the Rowenta Advancer and Focus also features this pointed front tip) Remember to empty the water chamber after you are done ironing. As long as you follow the guidelines for the type of water and keep the iron empty when in storage, I think you will have a durable product. I think the leaking and problems complained by users of other Rowentas come from the calcium / mineral residue buildup inside the unit when hard / distilled / filtered water is used over a long period of time. (if this review helped you, please vote!) I hate to iron...but not with this Iron I hate to iron, but this iron makes ironing so much easier. My DH loves to iron his clothes (bless his heart) and our old iron was leaking like Niagara falls. So I decided to treat him to a high end iron. After a lot of research (I always research my purchases), I purchased the latest model from Rowenta. Ironing now is so much easier and it cuts the work in half. I don't need to iron my pants front and back. The steam is my favorite feature. You can hear the steam coming out and it really gives you a lot of it and is very easy to use, you press a button and the steam comes out constantly - don't want steam, don't press the button - want a little bit of steam - press the steam button on top. I also like the display on top to let you know the type of fabric. Going around buttons is a breeze. The iron is heavy, but I like that. So far so good. Hope this iron last for a long time. Update 11-13-09: So far so good. I'm in love with this iron. I actually look forward to iron clothes now. As another reviewer said, following the instructions is essential. We empty the water chamber after we finished iron (we iron every day) and we only use tap water, unplug after done and don't use any type of starch products. A little pricy yes, but worth every penny!! Best Iron I was going to purchase the Advancer for less money, but after phoning Rowenta and speaking to a customer service rep, I learned this iron is the newest model with advanced steam, LED display. The best functional change is the continuous steam button is under the handle, making it easier to work with index finger instead of having to hold your thumb down on the top. Working with this is easier on the hands while trying to iron...so kudos to Rowenta for making that change. The iron is a little heavier than other brands, but I think that is what makes the press better. I would highly recommend this iron model to anyone looking for a new iron. While other Rowenta models are a bit less, this is worth the extra $20 (or not even that if you shop!).

T-Fal FV4259 Ultraglide Easycord Nonstick Iron, Blue
From T-Fal

T-Fal Ultra glide Easy cord Iron - Blue has the easy cord system with telescopic cord that keeps the cord out of the way when ironing and retracts into the iron for easy storage. The non-stick soleplate is the only scratch resistant with a lifetime warranty that provides faster and easier ironing.
Amazon Sales Rank: #706 in Kitchen & Housewares Color: Blue Brand: T-Fal Model: FV4259003 Dimensions: 5.80" h x 11.40" w x 5.80" l, 5.00 pounds
Ironing can be an enjoyable task when working with the right equipment. This thoughtfully designed iron makes it possible to get through piles of shirts, slacks, napkins, and more, quickly and efficiently. Its scratch-resistant non-stick soleplate glides along smoothly, while its pointed tip works well for getting into pleats, between buttons, and along seams. Even more, the soleplate provides 64 steam holes: 27 large steam holes for powerful performance and 37 microholes for steam diffusion across the entire surface with a concentration at the tip. The unit not only produces continuous steam (up to 25 grams per minute), but it also delivers a burst of steam (up to 50 grams per minute) as needed to help smooth out stubborn wrinkles. For added convenience, the iron's spring-assisted water-tank cover comes with a large sealed inlet opening for easy filling and to prevent spills, and its large 9-ounce water-tank size means fewer refills necessary. Set the temperature using the round thermostat dial; a "ready" light will indicate when the desired heat has been reached. Other highlights include an Easycord system that keeps the power cord out of the way when ironing, simple push-button controls, a vertical-steam option for hanging garments or curtains, a self-cleaning system with an anti-scale valve, a comfort-grip handle, and an extra-large heel to help prevent tipping over and to hold the 9-foot cord securely in place when in storage. For peace of mind, its three-way automatic shut-off function with a blinking warning light helps ensure maximum safety. The iron measures approximately 5-4/5 by 11-2/5 by 5-4/5 inches, and its soleplate carries a limited lifetime warranty.
A Modern Iron Age I bought this iron for Mrs. Spudman and she loves it. I've used it a few times myself and must say it feels good in the hand and does a superb job removing wrinkles. So why do "we" like this iron so much? The T-fal doesn't require distilled water like many other other irons, and the owner's guide actually recommends regular tap water. Lugging home the occasional gallon of distilled water can be a nuisance. We like the convenience of the nine-foot cord that's much less restrictive than shorter cords on other irons we've owned. Mrs. Spudman raves about the powerful steam and the awesome ability of this iron to make wrinkles disappear. My quilter wife pressed some pieces of material that had been folded since the Iron Age. Those wrinkles weren't even a challenge for this T-fal. With a transparent water tank, filling to the correct level is easy. The water inlet hinged lid fits snugly and securely like none we've experienced before. One fills the tank with the iron in a horizontal position. This is an attractive iron with easily understood and easily read controls. A light comes on when the iron has reached operating temperature and another light stays on while the iron is plugged in and is on. With its 1700 watts of power I especially like the three way automatic off feature on this iron. It'll cut off after 8 minutes of nonuse in the vertical position or 30 seconds of nonuse in the horizontal position or on its side. The Easycord system works wonderfully and has to be experienced to be appreciated. The T-fal's design keeps the cord up and out of the way. The UltraGlide is a comfortable, attractive appliance that glides over fabric almost effortlessly. We like its performance and safety features, especially the very sturdy heel stand around which the cord wraps neatly for storage. So far we have absolutely no regrets about purchasing this iron. Perfect product! I just went through multiple purchases (and returns) of irons ... two Black & Deckers, Panasonic and this T-Fal. Had no idea an iron put out by 'that cookware company' would be the best one! PLENTY of steam, no leaks, heats up quickly and glides super-smooth. Only drawback is there's no "on" switch to speak of. You just plug it in. It does have an automatic shut-off if left unattended or tipped over. NOTE: The Blue iron is Prime-eligible, yet shows a picture of an earlier model. I took a chance and it IS the same design as the Red one! Get this iron ... it's a great value at most any price. Best Iron Ever! It is such a relief to finally find a great iron! I tried the Black & Decker Digital Advantage and returned it because I had to reset the temperature at least 8 times while trying to iron one shirt! It kept flipping from where I set it (at level 6, cotton, with steam) to level 1. This T-Fal works equally well for right or left handers due to the easy cord system and it glides very smoothly. I iron fast (not because I'm good, but because I'm impatient) and sometimes unintentionally iron in a crease where there shouldn't be one, but this iron takes out those mistakes just as easy as can be. The water reservoir is a nice capacity and there is a feature that lets you set your steam at levels 1 through 3. I set mine at level 2 and ironed 9 shirts in an hour, only refilling it once. There are steam holes on the sole plate all over and not just on the rim which is very helpful. I was surprised to read that you are to use tap water and NOT distilled water for best results. It is supposed to be cleaned every month but the process does not seem to be too difficult. If it is, I will come back and add to my review.

T-Fal 1656 Ultraglide Iron
From T-Fal

Amazon Sales Rank: #330830 in Kitchen & Housewares Brand: T-Fal Model: 1656 Dimensions: 5.00" h x 6.30" w x 12.20" l, 3.30 pounds
This full-size, 1,400-watt iron is great for household ironing--it has a slick, tough, scratch-resistant soleplate, which provides a smooth glide, and an anticlogging valve to combat mineral buildup. The valve pulls out of the handle so you can soak it in vinegar or lemon juice and so you can shake water and impurities through the soleplate. For safety, the iron shuts off in 30 seconds if left horizontal or tipped over, and in eight minutes if left vertical. The T-Fal 1656 has a large (7-ounce) transparent water tank. A variable-steam control and a temperature-control dial allow you to make fine adjustments, and both a misting spray and a steam burst work on stubborn wrinkles and help create sharp creases. The soleplate carries a 10-year warranty against defects, and the iron has a one-year warranty. --Fred Brack
One really great Iron T-Fal's Ultraglide plus Iron is an exceptional tool. The sole plate heats quickly and the steam vents deliver a good burst of steam when the steam function is engaged. The durilion sole plate is easy to keep clean. The water tank level is visible at all times. The automatic shut-off engages after 8 minutes of unuse, but the sole plate reheats in about 15 seconds. The handle is large and easy to grip. The only feature that I did not like was the procedure for cleaning which seemed quite tedious, although it did the job. Overall I would give the iron a five star rating. Go T-fal!! The iron has actually made me like ironing. It's smooth and has powerful steam to do the worst cotton...also the iron isn't too heavy. It has atomatic shutoff if you forget and I love the base...very easy to clean too. Great iron! This iron is wonderful. I hate ironing and this iron makes it bearable. It just glides over the clothing and you do not have to push down on it for it to get the wrinkles out. I definitely recommend this iron!

Very disappointing1
I am a quilter. I purchased this iron to use when I attend quilting workshops as well as at home on a side table by my sewing machine. I have only used it for less than probably a dozen times and it no longer steams and leaks water.

Even though I purchased it on clearance for half price, it isn't even worth that if it doesn't work correctly or for a reasonable length of time, like at least 6 months.
